LOS ANGELES CITY COUNCILMAN DAVID RYU TO ENDORSE ROBERT LEE AHN FOR CONGRESS

Press Release

Date: March 21, 2017
Location: Los Angeles, CA

Los Angeles City Councilman David Ryu will join friends, volunteers and supporters on Wednesday, March 22nd at 3pm, at the Campaign Headquarters of Congressional Candidate Robert Lee Ahn for a press conference announcing his endorsement in the hotly contested 34th congressional race.

With many residents of Council District 4 residing in Congressional District 34, Councilmember Ryu is among the most sought after endorsements in the contest to replace Xavier Beccera, who vacated the seat when he was appointed Attorney General by Governor Jerry Brown.

Councilmember Ryu gained international attention when he became the first Korean American to be elected to the City Council of Los Angeles in 2015.

The 34th district represents all of Koreatown, Chinatown, Little Tokyo, as well as all or parts of Historic Filipinotown, Hollywood, Hancock Park, Downtown, Eagle Rock, Boyle Heights, City Terrace, Echo Park, El Sereno, Glassell Park, Highland Park, Lincoln Heights, Mt. Washington, Montecito Heights, and Westlake/Pico Union.

Robert Lee Ahn, if elected, would be the ONLY Korean American to hold a seat in the United States Congress. This would be historic.
